Learn more about Kevin and how to help...

Feb 12, 2007 by Jon Jarc
    Flowers in Winter
Many people have asked recently, "Tell me more about Kevin, where can I learn more?" and "What can I do to help?"

First, to read more about Kevin, you can view his bio here.

There are a few things you can do to help. First, and foremost, pray. All the prayers, intentions, rosaries, and special thoughts have really helped. The power of prayer is an amazing thing for sure. Second, keep writing...tell your friends and family to visit the site and write a note of support to Kevin and the family, and have them sign our mailing list. Those words are a true blessing in a time of need, and have really made a great impact on all the Healey's. Finally, financially. If you are interested in helping the family by making a monetary donation, here is how you can do that. Checks can be made out to Tom and Ann Healey (either or both would work) and mailed to:

    Wachovia Securities
    25 Main Street
    Westlake, OH 44145
    Attn: John Lee

Again, thank you all so much for the words, thoughts and prayers. It is truly an amazing thing to see the amount of support that has been generated and how far reaching all the wonderful support has been. All across this country, even Scotland and Italy, prayers and intentions have been rolling in. Please keep them coming...every prayer makes a difference.

Every Scoop will make a difference.

Friends of the Healey’s are cordially invited to join us for a St. Patrick’s Day Eve “Happy Hour”. March 16, 2007 at Mitchell’s Homemade Ice Cream 26161 Detroit Road in Westlake from 5-8pm.
Caricatures. Face Painting, Coloring. Jewelry. Fun. All proceeds raised will be donated to the Healey Family!

For more information on the ice cream social, you can download a flyer here and print copies for distribution...or you can contact Mo Loesch at 440-899-9127 or by email bmcjloesch@wowway.com

Poor Dan (and Sean) were abducted early this morning by The Mister and taken to Joyce Buick Pontiac to clear the snow off all THOSE CARS! Yes, you can imagine the "joy" on Dan's face. I am sure he will "share" his angst with you (as he always does at a later time today). I told him to "offer it up" as he will be away ... soon enough.
    Hang in there ...........

    Dear Kevin,

Hello. You have never met me or my family, but I was forwarded your story by a friend of mine. I have a daughter at Mags and a son who is your sister's age at Lakewood Catholic Academy. What a remarkable young man you are. I have always considered myself to be a person of strong faith in God and have always tried to instill those feelings of faith to my children. It would be my greatest pleasure to have my son share in your belief in God and tremendous willingness to help others. I'm sure your parents are so very proud of you. Sometimes I think you cannot teach others faith, but it is something you are born with or a true gift from God. You are lucky that you have that special gift. We never know what life will bring us from one day to the next, but please know that you are a truly special person and that our thoughts and prayers are with you through this journey. Your faith will bring you through this obstacle. Always remember that God is at your side. God Bless you and your family.

    Hey Kevin,
I'm an Ignatius grad of '63 and taught high school kids for 32 years. I have some idea of what you are going through since I've also had cancer and chemo. You have so much going for you in this challenge: your closeness with the person of Jesus, prayers from so many, your family, your friends, and your youth! You will overcome the difficulty of chemo and come out of this a better (literally and figuratively) person. You are in my daily prayers and God will pull you very close to Himself through the power of all these prayers. (Plus, you're Irish, so you are all set!)

We are a homeschool family in Strongsville and a friend of the Mathesons. I know sometimes it is Jesus' will for us to suffer, but He also gave us miraculous places and sacramentals. ( Which I am sure you know.) I have some holy oil from the St. Joseph's shrine in Canada. Would you like some? Blessed Andre Bessett started the shrine. Blessed Andre said St. Joseph will help. our family will pray for you in our St. Joseph prayer each day. It is piously believed that any one who recites the prayer each day before 11am for nine days will receive what they have requested.
Also, the Holy Love shrine in Elyria MAY have many blessings and special benefits. Would you like to give it a try? When we step out in faith, God may not grant a healing and a cure, but maybe He will. He may give us more strength or peace. It doesn't hurt to try. e-mail me if I can do anything.I have more details of experiences at Holy Love and I believe.
