      Hi Kevin,
You may not know me but my name is Becky Leusch, I was friends with Dana Care and graduated with her class. I wanted to tell you that I'm sorry for everything that you and your family has had to go through, and that I didn't write to you earlier. When i went to your wake almost a year ago my dad, Bob Leusch, told me your parents and mine were friends in high school and attending each others weddings. It made me sad when I found this out because I would have loved to have known you, you seemed like such a great person with a big heart. You've been in my prayers since my sophomore year when I found out you were sick and you and your family will continue to be in my prayrs. If you could please look after my friend Dana while she's up there with you and her family I would be more than greatful. I hope your doing well and never regreted anything, I've heard nothing but good things about you. Even though I haven't met you I still think of you and miss you, I'll never forget you.
      Love Becky.

I, too, have lost a child, and I will pass along to you what was sent to me: "I wish you grace to accept, strength to endure and hope for the future." My son died a little more than three years ago, the pain is still with me, but it is not as crippling as it once had been. My prayers are with you, may you find strength in God's Love.

      Dear Healey Family-

This is a very Holy Year for your family. I can only guess that each day is difficult for you and that the loss of Kevin on this Earth still fills your Souls.

However, my prayer for you is that you find God's peace and His Joy in your lives.

Kevin's presence on this Earth may have been short but what an impact he has had on everyone who hears and learns of His Life Story.

We all have a Journey whether is it is a few minutes, 20 years or 100 years, each life has a plan and a moment which is all in God's Time.

Kairos and in God's Love to all of you.

When you are ready to bring Kevin's life into the world in whatever way that the Holy Spirit is guiding you,I believe that you will continue to Bring Kevin's beautiful life and How He choose to live each moment in God's moment will be inspiring to all who hear His story.

      God be with You Always!

Thinking of the Healey Family as we start a new year. I am sure the holidays were difficult for all of you. I have been praying that God gave you strength to get through them. Kevin remains in my thoughts and the Healeys remain in my prayers. Take care.

I was at Notre Dame the day after your post about seeing Kevin’s headstone. I didn’t read your post until the end of that week but I left a request for prayers for Kevin and the Healey family at Brother Andre Bessete’s statue in the Basilica. You all continue to be in my prayers. During the same trip, I left the funeral prayer card from my Dad at the Grotto. He had died the month before. I thought of all the joy that the University of Notre Dame brought Dad and our family through the years. My Dad’s casket left the church as the Alma Mater played, followed by the Fight Song. He truly gave it his best fight until the end, as did Kevin. My future visits to campus will never be the same. I am sure you have the same feeling. But Notre Dame is one of those “thin places” that the Irish hold dear. The veil between heaven and earth is almost nonexistent. Kevin knew that, and his headstone reflects it. You have honored him with that. At the end of the last Notre Dame Magazine, there was an article – The order by which people are admitted to heaven. Kevin should have been first on the list for all of the lessons that he, and you, his family, have taught us. May he rest in peace.

Dear Ann, Tom and Mary Kate

I have taken the time to reread the archives from this precious and Holy Website.

The Holy Spirit has guided all of you on Kevin's personal Journey with God.

You as a Family did everything that God has asked of you. I am praying for you everyday for your continued strength.

This story is quite amazing and I felt God's presence while reading each and every word.

      Thank-you

      John

      Dear Healey Family

I agree with Eileen. God Bless you.

This website is a source of strength for all of us.

I hope you will consider keeping it active as the story written here is the story of your Son's courageous life on this earth.

It is compelling and it is the source of strength for those who have none. We all understand you must do what is your heart, but the story helps us all every day.

      A Friend in Prayer

The stone is perfect for Kevin. Tom did a wonderful job designing it. I just wanted to let you know that I continue to pray for your family and for Kevin almost everyday. He still seems to be on my mind and I contribute that to the fact that you shared him with all of us. I know it was hard for you to do and I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciated it. The memory of Kevin and the Healey family will be with me for a long time. Your faith has inspired me more than you will ever know. God Bless all of you.

We were out at Notre Dame this weekend and, as I have committed to do for as long as I visit out there, I lit a candle at the Grotto in memory of Kevin and for your family as you continue to heal yourselves after your loss. As always, on game day, there were thousands of candles lit and you could literally feel the warmth of the candles lifting our prayers heavenward. Kevin's grave marker is beautiful and he will, forever, be a Notre Dame man and a Sorin college man. I hope you don't mind that I take comfort in knowing that Kevin is in heaven keeping an eye on my son and the rest of his brothers at Sorin while Notre Dame--Our Mother--looks over all of them from her heavenly throne. May God bless you and His Mother comfort you.

Dear Ann, Tom and Mary Kate,
Kevin's resting place is beautiful. Thank you for sharing so much with us and for allowing us to be even a tiny part of Kevin's life while he was at Notre Dame. You have been, and will always be, in our prayers.
With love, Dan, Linda & John Kelley
